Bareheaded and cuirassed bust left; c/m’s: laureate head right (x2) / Demetyer standing right, holding grain ears and torch, facing Zeus Lydios standing left, holding eagle and scepter; prow to left of Zeus’ feet. LS -; BMC -; SNG Copenhagen -; SNG von Aulock -; SNG Munich -; SNG Hunterian -; SNG Righetti -; Lindgren -; RPC Online -; for c/m’s: Howgego 93 or 94. Good Fine, brown patina. Unpublished? From the R. D. Frederick Collection. Distinguishing some of the laureate head countermarks from one another is sometimes nearly impossible. Howgego records 93 on coins from Thyateira, but it looks more like 94 which is recorded on coins from Tralles. Estimate: $500 |  |
